Dan Hughes '77 coaches Seattle Storm to WNBA Championship

Muskingum alumnus and Seattle Storm Head Coach Dan Hughes ('77) won the WNBA Championship after beating the Washington Mystics on Wednesday night, 98-82. The victory capped off a series sweep.

After retiring from the WBNA three years prior, Hughes returned to coach and build the team that he had always admired, the Seattle Storm. This year, Hughes led the Storm to a 26-8 record (league best), the number one seed in the playoffs, to the WNBA Finals, and guided the Storm to a sweep in the finals becoming only the sixth WNBA team to accomplish that feat.
