Muskingum University sophomore Gary Kinney of Crooksville has been named a Newman Civic Fellow. Kinney is one of 262 students from around the world who will make up the organization’s 2019-2020 cohort of Newman Civic Fellows.
Kinney, studying sociology, is a leader on campus and highly involved in a variety of organizations, such as the Muskingum Programming Board and the Black Student Union. He is also a Resident Assistant, Muskie Ambassador of Diversity, One Love Facilitator and a member of Kappa Sigma and Order of Omega.
Researcher Dr. Jan Ramer gave the third annual lecture in The John Glenn Distinguished Lecture Series in Earth and Planetary Sciences at 4:30 p.m. on March 20 in Boyd Science Center Room 343. Dr. Ramer’s presentation, “Conservation Medicine Through the Eyes of a Gorilla Doctor,” provided details of her experiences working in the Madagascar, Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Muskingum University Forensics Team finished its varsity season as the President's Division Team Sweepstakes Champion, for the second year in a row, at the Ohio Forensics Association (OFA) State Varsity Championship. The event was hosted at the University of Akron on Feb. 15 and Feb. 14. The team is now ranked first in the President's Division in the state of Ohio.
