Larry Ray ’74 Honored by Springfield City School District

Muskingum University alumnus Larry Ray ’74 will receive a 2021 Springfield City School District Alumni of Distinction Award, at a gala recognition event planned for April 16, 2021.

An attorney, Larry is nationally recognized as a pioneer in the dispute resolution field, which includes mediation and arbitration.  As a Columbus, Ohio city prosecutor, he guided the first criminal mediation program in the United States.  

Ryan Burke ’14 Named Hancock County Wildlife Officer

Ryan Burke ’14 has been named Ohio Wildlife Officer for Hancock County by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.

His responsibilities are to enforce wildlife regulations and protect state lands, waterways, and property; to educate the public about conservation, wildlife, and safe outdoor recreation; provide technical advice and instruction about hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities; and perform fish and wildlife surveys.  

Counseling Services Launches App

Muskingum University’s Counseling Services has created a new Muskie WellBeing app, which offers mental health resources to all members of the University community. 

The goal of the Muskie WellBeing app is to offer easy access to mental health and life improvement resources for Muskingum students, faculty, and staff.

Muskie Forensics Earns 2nd Place and 4th Place Honors

Congratulations to Muskingum University Forensics Team students for their strong showing in two recent tournaments.

Taylor Blakeman ’24 and Alyssa Taylor ‘23 took home second place honors in the Ohio Forensics Association (OFA) State Novice virtual forensics tournament. Taylor is majoring in Nursing and Alyssa is majoring in Early Childhood and Special Education.

Science News: Muskingum Receives $10,000 Chemistry Grant

Muskingum University has received a coveted $10,000 grant for the Chemistry Department from The Pittsburgh Conference, sponsored by the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh and the Spectroscopy Society of Pittsburgh.  Both societies are non-profit organizations dedicated to furthering science education.

The University was selected for the 2021 Pittsburgh Conference Memorial National College Grant (PCMNCG) from among more than 50 proposals received for consideration from institutions across the country.

Registration Open for Muskingum University Summer Sessions

Muskingum University announces its 2021 Summer Sessions, a selection of undergraduate classes offered online by Muskingum faculty throughout the summer. The program is open to Muskingum’s traditional undergraduate students and students from other colleges and universities.

All Summer Sessions courses will be offered ONLINE and will be available during one of the following sessions:
