Muskingum University Students Selected as One of Six Finalists for The Fiscal Challenge

Muskingum University students selected as one of six finalists for The Fiscal Challenge, where they will present and defend their proposal to expert policy analysts in Washington D.C. April 7-9.

Muskingum to Host John Glenn Distinguished Lecture

After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, Muskingum University is hosting the John Glenn Distinguished Lecture Series in Earth and Planetary Sciences at 4 p.m. on April 12, in The Boyd Science Center, Room 343.

Dr. Susan Kidwell, the University of Chicago, will present “Unsuspected Collapse of Marine Communities in Historic Times: Novel Insights from Very Young Fossils.” Kidwell will be explaining the challenges of discovering ‘what was natural’ before human impacts in environmental management and conservation biology and how she is tackling the problem.

Watch the Winter 2022 Instrumental and Vocal Concert Performance at Brown Chapel

On February 27, 2022, the Muskingum University Music Department presented its Annual Winter Concert in Brown Chapel.

The concert featured the Muskingum University Concert Choir and Chamber Singers under the direction of Assistant Professor of Music Natalie Mallis, and the Wind Ensemble under the direction of Associate Professor of Music David Turrill.

Forensics Students Earn Top Awards in National Online Tournament

Competing among 51 national institutions in the recent Online Asynchronous Tournament Series (OATS #6), Muskingum University Forensics students earned several top awards.

Sophomore political science major Hope Craft earned fourth place in Extemporaneous Speaking.  In each of several rounds, Hope had 30 minutes to research, write, prepare, and record a seven-minute persuasive speech in response to a current events question.  Her topic for the final round question was “What should the EU’s response be to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine?”

Muskingum University Students Recognized at Kennedy Center Festival

Five Muskingum students were recognized and awarded for their outstanding work in theatre production at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Region Two Festival. This year’s festival was held virtually from Jan. 11-15, and 18 Muskingum students attended. Thirteen students presented their work in the categories of performance, playwrighting, or design-technology-management.
