Muskingum University to Showcase Local Artist in Quilt Show

Muskingum University’s first art exhibit this academic year will feature local artist Julia Swan. The Julia Swan Quilt Show will be Sept. 7-28, 2022, in the Palmer Art Gallery. The opening reception with Swan will be Sept. 7 from 1-3 p.m.

The Quilt Show will feature 17 quilts as well as six sculptures from her husband, Dr. Tom Swan, and former Muskingum University professor Louis Palmer. She also will have her book, Julia’s Quilts “Through the Eye of a Needle,” on display.

USDA Under Secretary for Rural Development Xochitl Torres Small Visits Muskingum University

Muskingum University President Susan S. Hasseler hosted United States Department of Agriculture Under Secretary for Rural Development Xochitl Torres Small and State Director Jonathan McCracken, Rural Development Ohio, on Tuesday, Aug. 16.

Torres’ visit included a tour of the Henry D. Bullock Health and Wellness Complex, which received a $28 million Community Facilities Direct Loan for construction of the facility.

Kappa Sigma Chapter at Muskingum University Wins Prestigious National Award

The Kappa Sigma Chapter at Muskingum University has been awarded a Kappa Sigma Founders’ Award of Chapter Excellence as one of the fraternity’s top Chapters in North America for the second consecutive year.

The Founders Award of Chapter Excellence (FACE) is the benchmark award in the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, recognizing outstanding Chapter management, achievement, and program development in all areas of operation. Only 29 chapters of our 291 Chapters and Colonies, received the FACE award within Kappa Sigma in 2022.
