APPLIED LEADERSHIP

Executive Director of Applied Leadership Robert McManus co-authored the book Ethical Leadership: A Primer, Second Edition (Edward Elgar, 2023).

ENGLISH

Associate Professor of English Andre DeCuir presented the paper “Louisa and Mrs. Sparsit Through the Looking Glass: Dickens and the Problem of Transformation in Hard Times” at the 2023 Dickens Symposium in Rochester, New York. 

MUSIC

The book At The Crossroads of Music and Social Justice (Indiana University Press, 2023), to which Associate Professor of Music Erin Bauer contributed the chapter "¡Vamos a Pelear en la Guerra!": Musical Manifestations of Coalition Building in the South Texas Chicano Movement,” has been awarded the 2023 Ellen Koskoff Edited Volume Prize and the 2023 Bruno Nettl Prize Honorable Mention for Outstanding Publication in the History of Ethnomusicology by the Society for Ethnomusicology.

POLITICAL SCIENCE

Associate Professor of Political Science Richard Arnold recently published “The Kremlin Uses Registered Cossacks as a Means of Stealth Mobilization” in the Jamestown Foundation’s Eurasia Daily Monitor.

SOCIOLOGY

The book Smart Suits Tattered Boots: Black Ministers Mobilizing the Black Church in the 21st Century (New York University Press, 2022) co-authored by Assistant Professor of Sociology Michelle Oyakawa has won the 2023 American Sociological Association Sociology of Religion Section Distinguished Book Award.

SOCIOLOGY AND HEALTH STUDIES

Professor of Sociology and Health Studies Hallie Baker co-authored the chapter “Ethics in Sociology, Society, and Aging Research” in the forthcoming book Ethics & Aging: A Cross Disciplinary Approach edited by K. Niles-Yocum and H. Marston (Cognella Publishing, 2024).
