High Impact Experiences Grant
The Impact Center is committed to providing access to high impact experiences for every Muskie. Thanks to the generosity of alumni and friends, we are pleased to offer the High Impact Experiences Grant program.
The High Impact Experiences grant program supports students in accessing applied learning opportunities beyond the classroom. The grant program aims to reduce financial barriers that may hinder a student from participating in a high impact experience.

To be eligible for the grant, students must:
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and be in good social standing with the university
- Have completed at least one full-time semester at Muskingum
- Be enrolled for the semester they are requesting funding
Each student may apply for up to three High Impact Experience grants throughout their time at Muskingum. These grants are awarded based on financial need, experience costs, and the potential positive impact on the student's personal and professional growth. Total program funding is capped at a maximum of $2,500 per student.

- Complete the Pre-Application Worksheet to prepare for the online form.
- Log in to Handshake and go to the Muskingum University Career Center
- Select the Experiences tab and click on Submit an Experience. Choose the High Impact Experience Grant template.
- Complete all sections thoughtfully and submit it by the chosen deadline.

- Review Process: Applications are reviewed by the High Impact Experience Committee. Decisions are made based on the criteria for financial need, funding impact, and personal/professional benefits.
- Decision Notification: You’ll be notified via email about whether your application was approved or denied.
Next Steps for Approved Students:
- Schedule a High Impact Experience appointment with the Impact Center through Handshake.
- Attend the appointment to complete a career readiness module, review stipend procedures, and write a thank-you letter for the program’s donors.
- Sign an Agreement to Participate with the Impact Center which will outline roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
- Funding Disbursement: Approved funding will be disbursed shortly after your appointment, either by direct deposit (1-3 days) or by check (up to 7 days after the appointment.
