High-impact experiences are educational activities that deeply engage students, promoting significant learning and personal growth. These experiences often include elements like real-world problem solving, active learning, collaboration, and reflective practice.

Examples of high-impact experiences include:

High impact experiences are designed to be intensive and immersive, providing students with opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings, develop critical thinking skills, and gain a deeper understanding of their fields of study and themselves.

The Impact Center is committed to ensuring that all students participate in at least one high impact experience during their time at Muskingum. Through the generosity of Muskingum alumni and friends, the High Impact Experiences Grant has been created. The grant is intended to alleviate the financial burdens often associated with these experiences such as travel, accommodations, program fees, living expenses, and materials and supplies.
