Students present research at sociological conference

A group of Muskingum College students presented their research findings at the North Central Sociological Association’s annual meeting, held recently in Dearborn, MI.

Amanda Summers '09, Marcus Lambright '10, Katrina Housley '11 and Lindsey Martin '11 presented team research titled Unearthing the Past: A Cemetery Demography Study.

Ryan McClain '09 presented his senior study, Us, Them and Wii: Using Video Games to Bridge a Generational Divide.

Sarah Shooter '09 presented her senior study, Aging Out of Care: Youth Experiences Emancipating From Foster Care.

Ellen Hine '10 and Theresa Gratsch '10 served as invited panelists in a session called Advice from Undergraduates: What makes a good teacher?.

Professor of Sociology Dr. Steven McGuire presented Producing Sociology on YouTube, and Assistant Professor of Sociology Dr. Sandra E. Schroer presented two papers: They are NOT ‘Kids’: Motivating College Students and Red Hot and Kewl: Controversy and Control in the Human Sexuality Classroom.
