In Memoriam – Annette Giovengo
Annette Giovengo

Muskingum University honors the contributions of Annette Giovengo (Nolish), who passed away in February 2025. Annette served the University for 23 years in several capacities, including providing support to the Board of Trustees and contributing to communications and publications.

Annette not only wrote articles in the Magenta Lines, Muskingum Update magazine, and our annual impact report, for many years she also managed their overall production and design. She also drafted biographies for event programs, developed scripts for University events, and wrote donor plaques for new buildings.

Annette provided invaluable support to the President’s Office as Secretary to the Board of Trustees. She attended the meetings, wrote meeting minutes, maintained the board portal and organized meeting materials. She played a key role in supporting the review and regular updating of the articles of incorporation, regulations and bylaws, and committee mandates.

Annette earned a Ph.D., M.S., and B.A. from Carnegie Mellon University and played violin in multiple campus ensembles. A lifelong resident of Ross Township in Pennsylvania, she served from 2013-2021 on the North Hills School District Board of Education. She was President of the North Hills Instrumental Parents Association from 2011-2015.

Annette provided support and service with competence, commitment and a very congenial spirit. She will be sorely missed by all who worked with her.
