Academic Advising
The mission of academic advising at Muskingum University is to deliver an integrative program that equips the entire community to engage and support students as they learn about themselves, develop an understanding of their education, and pursue pathways toward meaningful and socially responsible careers and lives.
Integrative Advising is a program of advising that guides students through academic requirements with a focus on intellectual, professional, and career development; connects students to supportive resources; and helps students plan curricular and co-curricular goals as they complete the Muskingum Experience.
Academic advisors at Muskingum are committed to building positive relationships with students. Advisors seek to engage and empower students through discussions of graduation and degree requirements, academic and career pathways, personal well-being, and meaning and purpose. Muskingum encourages students to engage in active self-exploration, particularly in choosing majors, minors, and transformative learning experiences. Academic advisors at Muskingum work to foster a culture of inclusion and respect for diverse populations and perspectives.
