Ability Requirements:
Students must be full-time, have sophomore status, and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 to participate in this program. Students must also have had at least two semesters of college Spanish beforehand. Students may participate in either a semester or full-year exchange.
Financial Responsibilities:
Students pay tuition fees to Muskingum University. Scholarships and financial aid remain intact. Students must cover fees for transportation to and from Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, classroom materials such as books, room and board, excursions from the university, and any other expenses. Students will be required to show proof of insurance or purchase it at UCLM.
Room and Board:
Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha reserves a limited number of places in the university residences for the participants in UCLM exchange programs. Applications must be made to the International Relations Offices of the UCLM before the commencement of the new academic year.
Classes:
UCLM offers all interested international students an intensive course in the Spanish language. One course will be offered during each academic semester (toward the beginning of each semester). The course will consist of 40 hours of class and the schedule of the course will be arranged by the professor of the course.
About Toledo:
The former capital of Spain is certainly one of the country's architectural treasures, with magnificent monuments specially from Moorish, Mudejar, Gothic, and Renaissance periods. Toledo was also the hometown of the great painter El Greco. The universidad of Castilla-La Mancha was officially founded on the 30th of June, 1982, with the merger of centres which corresponded to other university institutions and newly created centres. Although the foundation goes back to 1982, it was not until October 1985 that the UCLM came into full existence. Its establishment represented the Region's commitment to providing its own university system for more than a million and a half citizens who live in the territory. The University of Castilla-La Mancha is a regional institution divided into four campuses: Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, and Toledo, also extended to the cities of Almaden and Talavera de la Reina.
