Michael B. Fodor, Class of 1958

Michael Blakney Fodor - Passed away February 25, age 88, after a long illness. He was born in Milwaukee, WI, to Joseph and Katherine Blakney Fodor. He grew up in Pittsburgh and wrestled, played football and was on the track team at Mount Lebanon High School and later, at Muskingum College, playing left tackle on the undefeated 1955 Ohio Conference championship football team. He joined the Insurance Company of North America after graduating with a degree in economics and built a career in the surety and fidelity bonding industry. After finishing his service with the Pennsylvania National Guard, he moved his young family across the country five times before settling in the Chicago area in 1974. He was a nearly 50-year member of the Chicago Union League Club, and a Fourth-Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. By 1983, he was President of INA Bond Facilities in Chicago, and when corporate mergers ended his 24 years at INA he elected to stay in Chicago and take his talents to AON and Willis Corroon. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years Janice Hoyer Fodor, his two children Joe (Laura) Fodor and Nancy (Dave) Fritz, and 5 grandchildren.
