Floyd Kinsey, Class of 1947

Floyd William Kinsey, age 100, of Millersburg and formerly of Port Washington, passed away on February 28, 2025, at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg. Born on September 18, 1924, in Port Washington, he was the son of the late Victor Leroy and Phemia (Roenbaugh) Kinsey. Floyd graduated from Port Washington High School and served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. After returning home, he completed his bachelor s degree at Muskingum College. In his youth, Floyd formed a lifelong friendship with Esther June Ruppenthal, which eventually blossomed into a deep and enduring love. The couple married on November 28, 1946, and shared a life full of companionship and love. One of their favorite pastimes was traveling across the United States while enjoying their shared passion for golf, a sport at which they both excelled. Floyd retired from General Electric after 44 years of service, concluding his career as a regional sales manager in Wake Forest, North Carolina. He was an active member of the Elfins Society and the Hole-in-One golf club. Floyd s spiritual journey was rooted in St. Paul s UCC in Port Washington, where he was both a member and a regular participant throughout his life. Floyd is survived by his son, Bill (Dana Wall); his grandson, Landon Kinsey; his granddaughter, Jenna Kinsey; his step-grandchildren, Brett (Brook) Billings, Casey (Guy Hamilton) Quirarte, Ford Billings, and Liv Billings; his niece, Jody Hren; and numerous other family members. In addition to his parents and wife, Floyd was preceded in death by his sister, June Stemple.
