Ronald Johnson, Class of 1956
Ronald Virgil Johnson, 92 passed away at his residence on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
Ronald was born on December 11, 1932 in Kimbolton, Ohio, a son of Carl Chapman and Freda Mae Tedrick Johnson.
He came to this area 62 years ago and was a graduate of Canton South High School and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Muskingum University.
He served in the Army during the Korean War and worked as an Industrial Engineer at Republic Steel and LTV and the Republic Storage System and retired in 1994.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows Club and Saxon Club, enjoyed going to casinos and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Ronald married the former Barbara June Leep on October 5, 1956 and she passed away December 31, 2021. He leaves one son, Timothy (Karen) Johnson of Columbiana; one daughter, Tami Johnson of Boardman; two grandchildren, Jayla (Barry) Leetch and Krista (Kevin) Smith; four great-grandchildren: Conner, Ben, Wesley, and Whitney. He leaves a nephew, Bill (Pam) Leep; nieces: Nancy (Kevin) Robinson, Laurie (Troy) Manley, Sheri (Joe) Rothermel; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, Robert Johnson; and one sister, JoAnne Johnson; one niece, Anita (Nick) Racin; one nephew, Keith Johnson; and beloved dog, Mazelle.
