Graduate Assistant for Student Engagement

Muskingum University invites applications for a Graduate Assistant for Student Engagement.  The Graduate Assistant will support student engagement programming while acquiring transferrable skills in the areas of student supervision, facility management, and program planning and delivery.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of student engagement programming
  • Assist with daily operations of the Chess Student Center
  • Supervise student staffing of the Chess Student Center
  • Promote student use of the Chess Center
  • Promote student engagement programs through the University's student engagement social media accounts.
  • Serve as part of the residence life duty rotation.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Acceptance into a Muskingum University Graduate Program.
  • Bachelor’s degree.  
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to provide supervision to student workers that fosters development and responsibility.
  • Ability to build relationships with students with a variety of identities and life experiences.
  • This position requires night and weekend hours.
  • Willingness to reside in campus housing.
