Assistant Professor of Biology
Muskingum University invites applications for a full-time, one-year, renewable faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor starting in August 2025. Primary teaching responsibilities will include microbiology and genetics for biology, nursing, and preprofessional students. In addition, the candidate will be expected to offer introductory and upper-level biology courses. Evidence of teaching excellence is strongly desired. Successful applicants should be able to articulate how they can engage STEM majors in student research and experiential learning in the candidate's area of expertise (e.g. microbial ecology, microbiome, prokaryotic genetics).
A Ph.D. in biology or a closely related field is required. ABD's will be considered. Experience teaching at the undergraduate level is preferred. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
