Thomas B. Eager, Class of 1974

Thomas Bainbridge Eager passed away on July 9, 2023 surrounded by family. He was 71 years old. He was born on January 14, 1952 the son of the late Marilyn and Henry Eager in Watertown, NY. He grew up in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. He attended Muskingum University where in his senior year he was a student aboard World Campus Afloat and spent a semester at sea exploring the Pacific Basin. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business in 1974. He began working for American Airlines in 1976 where he met the love of his life and wife of 44 years, Betsy. They moved to the Dallas Fort Worth area where they raised two sons. He had a 39-year career with American Airlines and Sabre as an Information Systems Director. He retired in 2015 and moved to the Eastern shore of Maryland. Summers were spent at his beloved family cottage on Lake Ontario. He was a Boy Scout Leader, the president of Homeports, member of Rebuild Together and Elder at the Presbyterian Church of Chestertown. He will be remembered for his calm demeanor and ability to listen to others. Always the voice of reason. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betsy (Reed) Eager; 2 sons, Tristan Eager (Amy) of Dallas, TX and Kevin Eager (Jackie) of Corpus Christie, TX; a sister, Mary Cline (Jim) of Victor, MT; 3 grandchildren, Julian, Hudson and Dylan and one grandpuppy, Hobie.
