Christopher Scott McKee, Class of 2001
Christopher Scott McKee 41, of Zanesville passed away from a sudden illness Thursday March 18, 2021. He was born in Zanesville on September 24, 1979. Chris was a loving father, husband and son. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. Chris was very proud of his Native American and Scottish heritage. He was as much at home at a pow-wow as he was at a Scottish game. Chris loved music and was a talented musician. He was a drummer on Chief Two Feathers drum, a member of the Blue Knights, Rusty Knights, Rich Simcox Band and gave music lessons to many. He was a graduate of Muskingum Tech and Muskingum College. He was employed by the Auditor of State and was a trained gold and silver smith. Chris was a mountain of a man and possessed a mountain of knowledge. He enjoyed making and restoring pipes and was a member of the North American Society of Pipe Collectors. He was a talented jewelry maker and flint knapper. He enjoyed working with leather and beadwork as well. Chris had many skills including carpentry, tilework and restoring furniture. Along with his many talents he was licensed to perform marriages and enjoyed being able to do this for family and friends. Chris is survived by his wife Sarah Ramsey McKee; one son Alexander Christopher McKee; his father Scott (Jenine) Krofft McKee; his mother Brenda (Dick) Painter Tubaugh; siblings: Mike (Jessica) McKee, Bobby (Halley) McKee, Valerie (Tim) Biggam , Trish (Zack) Noon and Molly (Eric) Puckett; grandmother Patricia (Bob) Painter Dantzer; aunts and uncles: Donald (Diane) McKee, Pam Edwards and Carol Shuey; in-laws: Keith Ramsey, Marilyn Ramsey; brother-in-law Jesse Eli Ramsey; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his first wife Angela Rae McKee; grandparents: Donald and Evelyn McKee, Richard Painter, Ethel "Jo" Krofft, Bennie and Sarah Starr, Robert and Thelma McKee; aunt Patricia Fluharty and uncle Bob Edwards.
