Constance Faye "Connie" Price, Class of 1955
Constance Faye "Connie" Price, 86, of Bloomington, passed away Friday (Jan. 17, 2020) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal, with her family by her side. Connie was born Nov. 6, 1933, in Byesville, Ohio, the daughter of Gwynne Ruth Morris Smith Fizek and Claude Emerson Smith. She married Howard Merlin Price on Sept. 23, 1956, at the Cambridge Ninth Street Methodist Church. He passed away on March 18, 2016. Howard and Connie first settled in Moses Lake, Wash., while Howard finished his service in the United States Air Force. After living in several locations throughout the country, the Prices settled in Newark, Ohio, in 1960 and resided there for more than 40 years before moving to Bloomington in 2004. Connie graduated from Cambridge High School in 1951 and Muskingham College in 1955. She continued her education for many years at The Ohio State University and Ohio University Zanesville. Connie was a dedicated teacher. She began her teaching career in Elyria, Ohio, in 1955. She taught at Newark Catholic High School from 1970 to 1983. She also taught at CTEC and Central Ohio Technical College. She was active in the Newark community and a loyal member of First United Methodist Church. Connie loved music and singing. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church Choir for more than 40 years. She also sang with the Newark Mannerchorammenchor for many years. After moving to Bloomington, she was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Connie and Howard loved to travel. They visited 48 of the 50 states, Canada, and many countries in Europe. Connie is survived by her son, Colin Price, Nashville, Tenn., and daughter, Anne (Rob) Walling, Bloomington; grandchildren, Shane (Jessi) Price, Carson Price, Mason Price, Griffen Price, Ian (Amanda) Walling, Alex Walling, and Ryn Walling; and great-grandsons, Riley DuPree-Price and Cohen Price. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Kevin; and great-granddaughter, Penelope Price.
