Assistant Professor - Criminal Justice
The Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice at Muskingum University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in criminal justice at the rank of Assistant Professor for a Fall 2020 appointment. The criminal justice program seeks to hire a teacher/scholar who is collaborative and open to creating synergies with our criminal justice and political science faculty. While the area of specialization is open, the position requires the ability to teach a general introduction to criminal justice course, introductory courses in courts and corrections, and upper-level courses of interest in the areas of courts, and/or corrections.
Doctorate in criminal justice or criminology is required. ABD candidates will be considered, but the terminal degree must be completed by the beginning of the contract period for tenure-track status and rank above instructor. The successful candidate will have experience in undergraduate teaching and a passion for student development and advising. Professional activity including publication, is required for tenure and promotion.
