Cassie (She/Her) has been working at Muskingum since 2017, and specializes in theatre design and technology.
Though her background is in Scenic Design and Scenic Art (MFA Production Design and Technology, Ohio University 2013), Cassie has designed and taught in all areas of theatre. She designs or advises student designers for three to five shows a year, while also serving as the department’s technical director and production manager. Students in design and technology have found success regionally and nationally through the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
At Muskingum, she was recently awarded the 2024 William Oxley Thompson Award for Excellence in Teaching. She has served as chair of the Special Events Committee, Co-Director of the Kratoville Innovation Fellows, a Center for Teaching and Learning Faculty Fellow for Engaging With Contemporary Learners, Performance Scholarship Coordinator for her department, and recently began her tenure as Chair of the Communication, Media, & Theatre Department in Spring 2025. She is also the current chair of Region Two of The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, and actively engaged in building the strongest community for the next generation of theatre artists.
Current theatre research includes projection mapping, and the coordination of physical scenery, traditional lighting, and projected elements to build a more immersive stage picture. Cassie is dedicated to the advancement of female+ and gender non-conforming voices at all levels of theatre and educational leadership, and hopes to continue to gain experience at the administrative and executive levels of University work.
Outside of theatre, other obsessions include traveling in her motorhome, tending her jungle of house plants, and ensuring her rescue pups have the best life (and the best wardrobe).
