Scott Alexander White
Scott A. White, age 47, of Mount Gilead, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the Kobacker House in Columbus following a courageous two year battle with cancer.
On October 11, 1971, Scott was born in Mount Gilead, a son of Donald Joseph and Loverna Irene (Wells) White. He graduated from Mount Gilead High School in the Class of 1990. He then furthered his education, receiving his B.S. in Computer Science from Muskingum College in 1994. There, he was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity.
Since August of 2011, Scott was employed as a Product Engineering Technician by IB-Tech in Bucyrus. He loved his job and the relationships he developed with his co-workers.
A man of faith, Scott was a member of the Sacred Hearts Catholic Church. As a child, he served many years as an altar boy.
In his spare time, Scott enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles/dirt bikes. He was always cheering for his Ohio State Buckeyes. He also loved to golf and was one of four people to plant all of the pine trees at Pine Lakes Golf Course in Mount Gilead in the summer of 1985.
Scott loved his children more than anything and cherished spending time with them. One of his favorite things to do with them was vacation in Branson, MO and Gatlinburg, TN. He loved being in the mountains.
Scott will always be remembered for his fun loving, quick witted sense of humor. He was a wonderful story teller, but nobody is quite sure how many of them may be true. Scott had a very strong will and fought hard for two years to beat his cancer.
Scott will be greatly missed by his three children: Haley, Lacey and Zachary White, all of Ontario; his parents: Donald and Loverna White of Mount Gilead; his sister, Donna (Eric) Kill and their children: Matthew, Joshua and Daniel, all of Cardington; his brother, Mark (Leslie) White and their children: Casey and Kyle, all of Mount Gilead; his former wife and mother of his children, Beverly White of Ontario; his step-son, Kaulen Korody of Lexington; and numerous extended family members.
