New GCS Calendar Supports Faster Degree CompletionMuskingum University’s Graduate and Continuing Studies (GCS) calendar has been realigned to support faster degree completion for students.
GCS programs are now offered in two eight-week sessions in each of the fall and spring semesters, plus an eight-week summer session. Start dates for the fall and spring semesters now align with the traditional undergraduate semester calendar.
“The new calendar is allowing many of our students to complete their degree a term sooner than originally planned,” said Jennifer Baird ’19, Director of Allied Health Programs for the Muskingum Adult Program (MAP). “They are eager to utilize their new degree to enhance current employment or enter a new career, and are responding very positively to the calendar change.”
MAP undergraduate degree completion programs are offered in a variety of high-demand fields, including business, education, nursing, healthcare management, and medical laboratory studies.
Graduate offerings include the Master of Applied Leadership, Doctor of Applied Leadership, Master of Occupational Therapy, Master of Business Administration, Master of Arts in Teaching, Master Arts in Education, and Education Specialist degrees.
“We are committed to providing programs that prepare our students to be job-ready and are relevant to the needs of our region’s workforce,” said Bonnie Callahan ’14G, Associate Vice President for Graduate and Continuing Studies. “Our programs are offered in an online format that aids adult students in achieving their academic goals while effectively managing their work and family responsibilities.”
