Four members of the Muskingum College Wind and Percussion Ensemble and three members of its Jazz Ensemble have been named to the Ohio Private College Instrumental Conductors Association's (OPCICA) 2009 Honor Concert Band and Honor Jazz Ensemble.

The selections were made at OPCICA’s 22nd annual Honors Festival, held January 22 – 25 at the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati.

Members of the Jazz Ensemble chosen were Alex Earich '12, Levi Funk '09 and Lucas Kaspar '11.

Nominations for the Honors Band and Jazz Ensemble were submitted by conductors at each of the member institutions and those nominations were evaluated by both the president and president elect of OPCICA.

Its founding president is Dr. William Schlacks, who is chair of the department of music at Muskingum, where he is also The Ruth Dorsey Neptune Distinguished Professor of Fine Arts.
