Greek Organizations Serve the Campus and CommunityMuskingum University’s Greek organizations completed a year of outstanding service to the campus and community. Several highlights of the 2022-2023 academic year included:

The brothers of Phi Kappa Psi partnered with the sisters of F.A.D. to host the 9th annual Haunted Hollow on Oct. 20 and 21, drawing more than 360 students, faculty and staff, and area community members in record-breaking attendance.

The Relay for Life walk-a-thon on Oct. 22 brought together students, faculty and staff, and area community to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Fraternity Phi Kappa Tau and sororities Chi Alpha Nu, F.A.D., and Theta Phi Alpha served on the planning committee for the day-long event which featured opening, closing, and survivor ceremonies, the walk on the track, live music, food trucks, games and activities, and lighted tribute luminaria on the lake at nightfall to honor cancer survivors and those who lost their cancer battle. The event drew 213 walkers, raising more than $6,500.

The annual Delta Gamma Theta 5K Color Run, which raises funds and awareness for Safe Haven laws, took place on April 16.

Phi Kappa Tau and Chi Alpha Nu were the champions of the 2022-2023 Greek Week, which included a New Concord community service day with all organizations participating.

Multiple fundraisers and service projects such as Kappa Sigma’s annual Military Heroes Campaign fundraiser, food and clothing drives for those in need, animal shelter support projects, clean-up days in the community, and tutoring local school children.

30% of all Muskingum students are active members of the University’s 10 social Greek organizations, sharing strong commitments to scholarship, service, philanthropy, and leadership. The all-Greek GPA consistently meets or exceeds the all-campus GPA, demonstrating the academic excellence of Greek life participants.
The men’s fraternities include Kappa Sigma, M.A.C.E., Phi Kappa Psi, Phi Kappa Tau, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and Ulster. The women’s sororities include Chi Alpha Nu, Delta Gamma Theta, F.A.D. (Pi Phi Gamma), and Theta Phi Alpha.
