Mary Ann DeVolld of Norwich has been named the 2019 Woman of Achievement Lifetime Service Award recipient by the Muskingum Family Y. She is a retired high school teacher who taught for more than 40 years, with many of those years working for Zanesville City and East Muskingum Schools.

DeVolld received her Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in English, in 1973, and received her Masters in Education degree in 1991. She has received awards such as the Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and was named a Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center Exemplary Educator and Martha Holden Jennings Scholar.

She will be honored with the seven other honorees at the 2019 Women of Achievement dinner on April 10.

Now in its 31st year, the Muskingum Family Y Women of Achievement program honors those who have achieved excellence in their field and increases community awareness of women’s contributions to the economic and social health of the region. The program is presented in partnership with Ohio University Zanesville and Zane State College.
