First Ever Indoor Track and Field Meet Hosted at BHWCMuskingum University hosted its first ever home track and field meet on Jan. 14, 2023. A capacity crowd provided energy and excitement for the first home meet both in school history and in the new Henry D. Bullock Health and Wellness Complex.
The Alumni Mile, with Muskingum President Sue Hasseler serving as official starter, was the inaugural event of the meet. More than 50 track and field alumni from the 1960s through 2022 attended the meet, with a large group participating in the Alumni Mile.
The historic meet showcased the 119,000-square-foot facility that supports athletics, academic programs, recreation, and well-being. The BHWC features state-of-the-art track & field facilities, including a 200-meter regulation track with an OSST ProTraxxElite surface that surrounds 60 yards of sand-based turf, two long jump and triple jump pits, two pole vault runways, an elevated high jump runway, two throwing areas, and a multi-purpose video board.
The third-floor mezzanine area houses bleachers around the upper oval to provide optimal spectator seating and viewing for indoor track and field meets and other fieldhouse events.
The meet featured Muskingum, Wittenberg, Denison, Cuyahoga Community College, West Liberty, Chatham, Rio Grande, Geneva, and Washington and Jefferson.
