Project and Merchandising Coordinator
Muskingum University invites applications for a Project and Merchandising Coordinator. This position will work collaboratively within the Strategic Marketing and Communications team to manage the Office’s project and merchandising functions that raise awareness and drive enrollment in the University’s educational programs. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications, the Project and Merchandising Coordinator will support marketing and outreach efforts of the University.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the University’s licensing and merchandising function, including:
- Administering the implementation of vendor contracts for University licensing and merchandising
- Creating and maintaining annual schedule for in-person, merchandise sales
- Working with University partners to identify, promote and plan for in-person, merchandise sales
- Ensuring merchandise variety including products and price points
- Working with Executive Director and Visual Design Manager on merchandise brand review and approval
- Maintain the Office’s annual calendar of University activities and events
- Oversee the Office’s document management function working with team members to load, label and archive projects at their completion
- Manage the Office email box responding to emails and inquiries
- Support the University sponsorship function following up with organizations as needed, coordinating participation at events, and completing payment requests
- Oversee the management and coordination of Office projects, including:
- Developing and implementing a project management system including project request form
- Working with institutional partners to educate on the process, manage expectations, and obtain necessary materials to complete projects
- Communicating with partners to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives
- Working with the Executive Director to facilitate weekly project meetings to discuss new projects and status of existing projects
- Directing project correspondences by preparing and reviewing project proposals, memos, meeting minutes and emails
- Managing project implementation, including allocation and booking of resources and coordinating all team members to keep workflow on track
- Coordinating and monitoring the overall schedule of projects
- Developing milestone schedules to ensure marketing projects are delivered on time and on budget, including production schedules for the bimonthly newsletter, biannual magazine and annual report
- Serve as back up web captain for the Office reviewing and approving content and updating key website functionality as needed

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, marketing, or communications or equivalent work experience
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of individuals
- Knowledge and experience using Microsoft office programs, including Microsoft Teams, Forms, Project and/or Planner
- Strong organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- 2 years of experience in marketing or sales
- Knowledge of the creative process and asset development
