Maintenance Technician
Muskingum University invites applications for a Maintenance Technician. This position maintains and repairs campus systems, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other associated equipment systems, in a manner that minimizes the downtime of repairs and maximizes daily operation.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Routine maintenance and repair on HVAC equipment and the associated components.
- Check daily for proper operation of equipment.
- Suggest and implement changes in equipment for more efficient operation.
- Maintain and repair equipment and systems to provide minimal downtime.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance program.
- Assist other trades; continue cross-training for all maintenance positions.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate strength.
- Ability to safely and correctly use machines and tools for repair and maintenance.
- A base knowledge of HVAC equipment, plumbing operations, and electrical operation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Thorough follow up to solve problems.
- Ability to climb ladders and to enter tight and enclosed spaces, including some tunnel work.
- Ability to follow complex directions and plans.
- Ability to cross-train to learn repair and maintenance of minor plumbing, electrical, and kitchen equipment.
- Good mechanical skill.
- Ability to make quick, crisis-oriented decisions and prioritize emergencies.
- Must have and maintain a valid Ohio driver’s license and be insurable through the University’s carrier.
