Head Coach - E-Sports

Muskingum University invites applications for a Head Coach for E-Sports.  The Head Coach develops and maintains a quality, competitive Varsity E-Sports program within the philosophy of Muskingum University and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Must work effectively with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and administration of Muskingum University. 
  • Coach and manage the varsity E-Sports team.
  • Responsible for recruiting qualified prospective students to participate in the program and their retention at Muskingum University. 
  • Responsible for contest scheduling, practice and contest organization. 
  •  Responsible for player skill development and coordination of all events concerning the E-Sports program. 
  • Work thru and with the Director of Athletics on all fund-raising activities 
  • Responsible to administer the program within the operating budget 
  • Responsible for the general oversight of the E-Sports facility. 
  • Maintaining and monitoring all E-Sports equipment and facilities. 
  • Coordinate travel, meals, and lodging. 
  • Teach courses within the Health and Physical Education Department as assigned by the Chair of the Department. 
  • Attend and participate in all departmental meetings. 
  • Abide by all policies and procedures as set forth in the Department of Athletics and Muskingum University. and follow the rules and regulations of the appropriate E-Sports governing institution.  
  • Monitor academic progress of all student-athletes on the team.

 REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

  • Bachelor’s Degree. 
  • Strong ability to multitask. 
  • Excellent judgement, problem solving and organizational skills. 
  • Competitive E-Sports experience. 
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours and weekends, some travel required. 
  • Ability to work independently and resolve issues independently. 
  • Competent knowledge and experience in coaching and recruiting the Division III student/athlete. 
  • Knowledge of National Association of Collegiate E-Sports (NACE). 
  • Strong technology skills required. Knowledge of software and hardware equipment associated with E-Sports.  

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Master’s Degree. 
  • Experience recruiting high school and/or college students. 
  • Coaching or teaching experience.
