During the 2024-2025 academic school year, the Doctor of Applied Leadership Program will be $755 per semester hour of credit.

How long will the DAL program take me to complete?

The average time to complete the DAL program is 3-5 years. The student has up to 7 years to complete the program.

How does the mentorship work?

The DAL program provides a mentor to each student based on the student's career plans. The DAL program refers to this as the student's "Area of Concentration." The mentor meets with their mentees throughout the program to help them apply what they learn in the classroom to their field.

What is the difference between a Ph.D. and a professional doctorate?

The DAL is a professional doctorate designed to help leaders apply evidence-based research to solve real-world problems, while a Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy) is designed for those who seek to pursue pure research or a full-time academic career. The professional doctorate and the Ph.D. are considered terminal degrees, meaning they are the highest degrees in one's field. 

Is the program fully accredited? 

The DAL program is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and approved by the Ohio Department of Higher Education. 

What are the online classes like?

All classes use synchronous (via Zoom) and asynchronous formats and are taught by highly qualified instructors from across the University. Classes are interactive and the final research projects are designed to be relevant to the student's area of interest.
