Muskingum Students Place in Ohio Forensics Association State Varsity CompetitionThree Muskingum University students placed at the Ohio Forensics Association State Varsity competition on Feb. 18.
In the Persuasion category, Milayna Williams, a history and Spanish major from Columbus, Ohio placed third, and Amber Bowering, a psychology and communication studies major from Bellevue, Ohio placed sixth.
In the Broadcasting category, Megan Groves, a communication studies and media production major from New Lexington, Ohio placed third.
The combined team points of the varsity team moved Muskingum to 2nd place in the President’s Division.
Forensics is defined as guided presentations in a public forum that includes intercollegiate competition. The Muskingum University Forensics Program is for students interested in competitive speaking and performance as a co-curricular activity. Participants travel to other colleges and universities and compete against other college-level students in debate and/or three different categories of speech totaling 12 different events.
