Cynthia Wilkins Ph.D., RN
Active member on the Ohio Action Coalition for Nursing, co-authored the Ohio Nurse Competency Model that has been implemented in Ohio to guide seamless pathway progression in the state for nurses returning to school for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Dr. Wilkins is responsible for all Nursing Department operations including curriculum planning, course design and faculty evaluation, budget, and program assessment. Prior to her role as Program Director, Dr. Wilkins was the Assistant Dean for Graduate and Continuing Studies at Muskingum University. In this role she was responsible for the start-up, implementation, and evaluation of the RN to BSN program track, and four other allied health related majors: Healthcare Management, Community Health, Health Studies and Health Science. Dr. Wilkins has been a nurse for 42 years. During this time she has practiced nursing, served as a nurse educator in traditional academia and hospital staff development, and worked in hospital administration as a Vice President of Patient Care and later as Vice President of Quality.
