Accounting Public
With classes in business, economics, taxes, and a wide range of accounting topics, a major in Accounting or Accounting-Public will give you the tools and preparation to enter the business community.
Most of Muskingum’s Accounting-Public students complete the 150-hour major in 4 or 4.5 years. Even without a master’s degree, you will qualify to sit for the Certified Public Accounting exam in Ohio upon coursework completion.

Outcomes
Muskingum’s Accounting and Accounting-Public graduates quickly find employment with local, regional, and national/international CPA firms, with governmental entities, and in a variety of private industries. Our graduates work as CPAs at firms such as Tucker and Tucker, Wilson, Phillips & Agin, Rea and Associates, Ernst & Young, Novogradac & Co., Deloitte, and for the State Auditor of Ohio.
Muskingum University also prepares students for success in graduate school. We have placed accounting majors in many of the top accounting graduate programs including: The Ohio State University, University of Virginia, University of Georgia, Bentley University, University of Rochester, and Boston College.
