- Candidates not currently employed as teachers are advised that placement outside of the counties surrounding Muskingum University will be dependent on the availability of qualified university supervisors. Every effort is made to accommodate, but no placement choice is guaranteed.
- MAT, MAP, and Post-Bac. candidates applying for initial licenses are required to have passed the appropriate content area exam of the Ohio Assessment for Educators (OAE) prior to the first day of student teaching. Before you apply for your license, you must also pass the pedagogy and reading exams.
- Clinical Practice for all candidates seeking either an initial or advanced license consists of TWO (2) parts: 1) the required days of student teaching and 2) the seminar. Check the program descriptions or contact Graduate & Continuing Studies for the appropriate EDUC course numbers. The seminars meet several times during the semester, both face-to-face and online. The class schedule for seminars will be provided at orientation.
