Donte Douglas, '13, spent some time working in Florida on a sports radio talk show and is now back in his hometown of Akron, Ohio.
Douglas, who graduated with a degree in journalism, published a monthly magazine, The Douglas Journal, during his time as a student. He explains, “Each issue included various topics… It was my way to be an outlet for the campus.” Douglas felt his journal was an opportunity to bring talented writers together for a common purpose.
Following graduation, Douglas published a book with friend and fellow Muskie Landel Shakespeare. The book, Small Dose, is a collection of poetry about the life experiences of the two young men. In February 2014, Douglas and Shakespeare were invited to return to campus to read from their collection at a Brewed Awakening event.
Douglas continues to write. He’s a contributor to several blogs, including his own. He uses social media to share his work.
