These vehicles may be reserved by members of the university community for university business only at a rate of $0.65/mile.  The Physical Plant Services has been charged with the scheduling and maintenance of the fleet.

You are required to have a certified driver for any of the Universities Fleet Vehicles. In order to become an approved driver, an individual must successfully complete the driver safety course offered through University Police. For more information, contact University Police x8155.

* Pickup trucks may be reserved for use after 3:30 p.m. and are restricted to local trips.

Reservation Procedure & Key Pickup

Vehicles may be reserved using the online Fleet Vehicle Request Form. The Physical Plant office will confirm by voice mail or e-mail that the request has been processed.

Keys are to be picked up and returned at the University Police Office. The University Police Office is located at 104 Montgomery Blvd.  All vehicles, with the exception of the Science Division van, must be picked up and returned at the Physical Plant complex.  The Science Division van is parked behind the Boyd Science Center near the Power Plant.

In addition, a Muskingum University Vehicle Trip Ticket should be picked up along with the keys and returned to Campus Police. The trip ticket must be filled out completely. A Purchasing Card (credit card) is also provided for the purpose of buying gas. All gas receipts must be returned to the University Police.

In the event that a university fleet vehicle is not available to be scheduled, Physical Plant Services will make every effort to reserve a vehicle from one of the following rental agencies:

• Enterprise Rent-a-Car in Zanesville - (they will also rent vehicles to University employees for personal use at the University at a discounted price with University ID).

The rental companies work with the Physical Plant, they will bring your rental to campus. You will need to pick up your rental vehicle at the Enterprise Rental location on Maple Avenue in Zanesville, Ohio.
