PLUS Program Admission Process
The PLUS Program supports students with learning differences enrolled in Muskingum University’s small, residential setting.
The PLUS Program requires students to apply and be accepted to Muskingum University prior to being accepted to the PLUS Program.
- APPLICATION PROCESS
-
To apply for the PLUS Program:
1. Complete the Muskingum University admissions application and submit standard admissions materials.
2. Indicate on the admissions application an interest in the PLUS Program.
3. Submit documentation of a learning difference to the PLUS Program.
- The requirements and information about how to send documentation can be found below
4. Schedule a campus visit and indicate that you would like to meet with the PLUS Program for an interview
- It is preferred to have interviews conducted in-person during the senior year of high school. Interviews may be conducted virtually, but PLUS may request a second interview to be in-person at a later date. To schedule a virtual interview, please email plus@muskingum.edu
- A second interview may be requested for students who are high school juniors (or younger) during their first interview.
5. Once the PLUS Program receives documentation and has an interview, acceptance into PLUS will be determined.
- Documentation of a Learning Difference
-
A learning difference can have various causes. PLUS Program students typically have a documented diagnosis of:
- Specific Learning Disability
- ADHD
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Any other documented disability that creates a learning difference
The PLUS Program requires recent documentation of a learning difference in the form of:
- Psychoeducational testing
- Evaluation Team Report (ETR)
- Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- 504 Accommodation Plan
- Letter from a physician for a medical concern
- Written Service Plan
The PLUS Program reserves the right to request additional documentation.
For your convenience, this consent form may be given to your high school or medical provider to request your documentation be sent directly to the PLUS Program.
Documentation should be sent to:
E-Mail: plus@muskingum.edu; Fax: 740-826-8285; Postal Mail: Muskingum University, PLUS Program, 260 Stadium Drive, New Concord, Ohio 43762
