Students, faculty selected for annual Watermedia Society art show
Yan Sun

Two Muskingum University art students and their professor, Yan Sun, have been selected to participate in the 35th Annual Southeastern Ohio Watermedia Society exhibition now on display at the Zanesville Museum of Art.

Appearing with Professor Sun in the juried exhibition are Grandma’s Barn, an acrylic by Grace Turner ’13 (pictured here) and Lovers, an acrylic by Dandan Song.  Their work, along with that of 21 other artists, will be on display at the museum from December 8 to December 29.

At the same time, Professor Sun has mounted a special exhibition at the museum.  Titled Viewpoints and Vistas: Paintings by Yan Sun, it displays a series of both oils and acrylics that reflect his international experiences and some ballet themes.  That exhibition will be on display from December 15 to February 16. Grace is pictured here with her work.

Professor Sun is the Ruth Dorsey Neptune Distinguished Profess or Fine Arts at Muskingum, where he teaches studio and theory courses.  He joined the faculty in 1997.

Gallery hours for both shows are Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Admission is $6.00 for adults, $4.00 for seniors age 60 and over and for students age 10 to 18.  Museum members and children up through age 9 are admitted free.
