Stacy Russell double majored in music and English. She received a generous scholarship from Muskingum and loved the campus.

Stacy was very involved in several music ensembles and academic honoraries. She was also Head Resident Assistant (HRA) for Finney Hall and the Lakeside Houses.

Going into her junior year, she applied for an HRA position, but says, “When they turned me down I realized being a normal RA for another year [was] actually what I needed. So when thinking about being an HRA for my senior year, it was a no-brainer because I finally felt ready for what the position would entail: Responsibility, being trustworthy, someone who is easy to talk to and interact with, and overall someone who understands people and is willing to work with them and problems they might have. My experiences in these two positions have taught me many things: Time management, good listening skills, patience, problem-solving skills [and] connecting to a group of people.”

Stacy says, “I think all of the things I have learned [as an RA] will be used in all of my future careers. [They] are essential skills that you need in life and especially in the work field.”
