John Jeffers graduated from Muskingum in May 2013 with a major in French and a minor in Spanish. After graduating, Jeffers took a job as an English instructor at the University of Castilla-La Mancha in Toledo, Spain. His position will continue until June of this year. Jeffers’s responsibilities include teaching six different courses of beginning and advanced English. The average class size is 25.
In addition to his English teaching duties, Jeffers was asked to help the Vice-Chancellery of International Relations for Castilla-La Mancha gain insight into American universities and study abroad. He is also helping to form new international exchange programs. In his free time, Jeffers works as a private English tutor.
Jeffers chose Muskingum for the “small university atmosphere and close personal connections with the professors and staff.” He credits his professors with preparing him to “become a good professional and a good citizen of the world.”
In June, Jeffers will return to Ohio, where he hopes to find a job using his degree.
