Science Division Scholarships
The Muskingum University Science Division Scholarships are awarded to qualified incoming first-year and new transfer students. Science Division Scholarships may be valued at up to $2,000 annually.
Financial need is not a requirement, though these awards are factored into a comprehensive financial aid package for students demonstrating need. Scholarship applications received after a need-based financial aid package is sent will be limited to a maximum award of $1,000. Students must major in one of the science division degree programs and maintain an overall grade-point average of at least a 2.7 (cumulative) to renew the scholarships from year to year.
To be considered for a Science Division Scholarship a student must:
1. Be admitted to Muskingum University as a full-time incoming first-year or new transfer student.
2. Show evidence of outstanding scholarship in terms of high school GPA, class standing, and grades in prior STEM courses.
3. Submit the Science Division/ Choose Ohio First Scholarship application.
The strongest applicants for the Science Division Scholarships will be considered for Choose Ohio First Scholarships. Choose Ohio First Scholarships are funded through the state of Ohio and require students to be Ohio residents. Choose Ohio First Scholarships are valued at up to $3,500 annually.
The COF Scholarship is designed to significantly strengthen Ohio's competitiveness within science, technology, engineering, mathematics, medicine (STEMM) disciplines and STEMM education. Choose Ohio First awards competitive scholarship funding.
Students must major in a Choose Ohio First approved programs and maintain an overall grade-point average of at least a 3.0 (cumulative) to renew the scholarships from year to year.
