Dr. Stephanie Allen is an Assistant Professor of Biology. Dr. Allen primarily teaches the Anatomy & Physiology sequence and Pathophysiology, and co-teaches Microbiology Laboratory. Her courses help support Nursing, Athletic Training, and other pre-professional programs. In addition to teaching, Dr. Allen also serves as the adviser for Beta Beta Beta, the Biological Honorary Society.
Dr. Allen's research interests include development of non-melanoma skin cancer, toll-like receptors, and stress hormones.
Dr. Allen's teaching philosophy emphasizes her role as a guide and facilitator of information, not simply a disseminator of information. This allows students to build a strong foundation from which they can apply their knowledge to real-world applications.
Dr. Allen lives outside New Concord with her husband, two daughters, six dogs, four horses, and two cats.
