About Sport Administration
The Sport Administration major offers an integrative curriculum that combines sport administration, business, and economics courses taught by faculty with sport industry research experience. Students learn management and problem-solving skills needed to successfully combine a love of sports and business insight to excel in the sport administration industry. Beyond coursework, students have a variety of practical experiences, such as faculty or student-driven research projects, internships, and sport business observations. Overall, this program prepares students for professional careers in the sport industry, including professional, intercollegiate, interscholastic, youth sports, park and recreation agencies, campus recreation departments, and more.
Mission
The Sport Administration major exposes students to sport management, marketing, finance, and legal issues. Students gain the management and leadership skills needed to develop and operate sports organizations and athletic and community recreation programs.
