The William Rainey Harper Award for Outstanding Scholarship
The William Rainey Harper Award for Outstanding Scholarship, 2008. This award is named for an alumnus who was a renowned scholar, educator and the founder and first president of the University of Chicago.
The William Oxley Thompson Award for Excellence in Teaching
The William Oxley Thompson Award for Excellence in Teaching, 2001. This award is named in honor of an alumnus of Muskingum College whose lengthy and illustrious career combined teaching, ministry, and service as a university president (at Miami University from 1891 to 1899 and the Ohio State University from 1899 to 1925.)

Key to the City of Cambridge
Cambridge Mayor Tom Orr presented the Key to the City to Yan Sun during a ceremony held at Cambridge City Hall for his time and artistic efforts on behalf of the city’s residents, civic groups and other organizations.

Yan Sun Diverse Cultures Gallery
In September 2008, the Zanesville Museum of Art Board of Directors voted to recognize the contributions of Yan Sun to the Museum by renaming the “Diverse Cultures” Gallery. It is now known as the "Yan Sun Diverse Cultures Gallery." The Gallery is on the second floor and exhibits a wide array of historic Asian, African, and Tribal arts.
