Phi Kappa Tau and the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp

At the 1995 Convention in Washington D.C., Phi Kappa Tau officially made the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp its National Philanthropy. The choice of the new philanthropy recognized a need expressed by undergraduate and alumni brothers for greater participation, beyond financial support, in a philanthropic endeavor.

Brother Paul Newman, Ohio '43, founded the Hole in the Wall Gang Camps to give children who face chronic illnesses the chance to enjoy a normal summer camp experience. The children attend the camps at no charge to their families.

There are currently five HITWG Camps with two more under construction. The original HITWG Camp is located in Connecticut. The Double "H" Hole in the Woods Camp is located in New York. The Boggy Creek Gang Camp is located in Florida. There are two camps overseas in Europe. The two camps under construction are the Victory Junction Camp (North Carolina, 2004) and the Painted Turtle Camp (California, 2003).
