The following French students attended the Williams Research Center Symposium “Between Colony and State: Louisiana in the Colonial Period” in New Orleans, LA , Jan 29-Feb. 1, 2010: Mary Daubenspeck(’10), Austin Frederici (’11), Lucile Kleynhoff, (French LanguageAssistant from the IUT de Nice, France), Katie McCarrell (’12), and Ryan Worbs (’11). Study Abroad: French majors Jill Henshaw (’13) and Emily Preston (’13) studied at l’Université du Sud Toulon-Var in France during the last academic year. French majors Kiri Dicken (’11) and Revenel Severe (’11) studied French at the l’Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières in Canada. Alums: Jessica Raffelson (’03) is a doctoral candidate
in French at Purdue University. She is spending the 2010-11 academic
year teaching English at the University of Strasbourg while conducting
research in French linguistics. From France, Jessica writes: “my
undergrad education at Muskingum prepared me quite well for France--I can
absolutely understand everything people say without asking too much to
repeat, and it seems I make myself understood quite well. Thanks
for that!"
