Journalism at Muskingum College

Here at Muskingum College we offer a variety of majors including journalism. The journalism major is an interdisciplinary one that incorporates classes from several departments within the college. Those who pursue a major in journalism will prepare for a future career in broadcast, print, or electronic media. Journalism majors receive hands-on experience through internships as well as to work for Muskingum’s media organizations. Every student who chooses to major in journalism takes the journalism senior seminar.

The journalism senior seminar is a capstone course that incorporates the student’s research skills with print and media. Journalism majors enrolled in the senior seminar receive advice and guidance from journalism faculty throughout this semester-long project. All courses taken before this capstone course will have prepared the student with enough knowledge to successfully research a topic and present a multimedia project.
