Begin this modular lesson plan with a warm-up exercise.

Step One:

Ask students have a quick glance of the country. For example, visit China at a Glance or China Quick Facts to learn about China. Choose one art work from the culture under study and present it to the students:

A painting (Source: Chinese Art Gallery at CYCNET site)

Step Two:

Ask students to express their own opinion about the story. Save this warm-up activity for examination later after the students have learned more about China.
