Dr. Linda Morrow included in Ohio Magazine “Excellence in Education” issue
Muskingum College Professor of Education Dr. Linda Morrow has been included in Ohio Magazine’s 2006 “Excellence in Education” issue, now on newsstands. She was nominated for inclusion by Muskingum College officials.
This year, Dr. Morrow was awarded the College’s William Oxley Thompson Award for Outstanding Teaching, its highest honor for teaching.
A member of the faculty since 1988, her colleagues describe her as a “teacher’s teacher,” and she is much in demand to give workshops in the region. Dr. Morrow also mentors colleagues at Muskingum to help them improve their quality of teaching. Her broad experience and expertise in educational psychology, adolescent literacy and special education benefits students who are preparing to teach, and they consistently comment that she never fails to challenge and inspire them.
Dr. Morrow is a co-author, with three fellow faculty members, of Building on Student Diversity: Profiles and Activities. The book, published this fall by SAGE Publications, gives teachers and teacher candidates, a real-world context for learning and practice in accommodating children with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
A 1974 graduate of Muskingum, Dr. Morrow earned both her master’s and doctoral degrees from The Ohio State University.
